Outgoing Papua NEw Guinea Ambassador to the People's Republic of CHina, His Excellency, Ambassador Max Rai today, made his final farewell call on H.E Mr Li Zhaoxin, Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China. During the brief meeting, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed his utmost delight and appreciation to Ambassador Rai for bringing the PNG-Sino diplomatic relations to new and higher height partiuclarly during his tenure in China, as has been evident in the ever-increasing investment by Chinese private businesses as well as by State-owned enterprises into Papua New Guinea. But most important of all, he stressed, was Papua New Guinea's steadfast adherence to the "One-China" policy, of which, China was grateful of. He fervently hoped that this trend would be continued when the new Ambassador arrives to take up his posting soon.
Ambassador Rai will depart Beijing for Port Moresby with his family on Monday, April 2, 2007.
The staff and families of the Embassy of Papua New Guinea in Beijing, People's Republic of China, would therefore like to take this opportunity to say "duo xie le" to Ambassador Rai and Madam Roselyne Rai for everything during their stay in China since July 2003, and would like to wish them, and their children Immanuel Rai, and Maxine Rai, a very safe and pleasant flight back home and that our God Almighty continue to shower his endless blessings and guidance on the Rai family every day of their lives.
