This evening (Friday, 14th September, 2007), His Excellency, Ambassador John L. Momis, on behalf of the Embassy of Papua New Guinea in Beijing, People's Republic of China, will host a small reception at the Beijing Sheraton Greatwall Hotel, to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of our independence.
The Chinese Government will be represented at this celebrations by Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E Mr Zhang Yesui.
It was on 16th September, 1975, that the people of the Territory of Papua and New Guinea, finally assume control of their own destiny, when they became members of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea.
The Embassy of Papua New Guinea would therefore, like to wish all Papua New Guineans studying, working, or sightseeing in China, a Happy 32nd Independence Anniversary, and we wish you all well in all your respective endeavors, as you all strive to represent our beloved country in the People's Republic of China.
