PNG and China are now set to sign the historic Approved Destination Status (ADS) agreement for the promotion of tourism. The signing will be done in Kunming, Yunnan Province on Thursday, 1 November, 2007.
The signing of this MOU will set into motion proceedings for PNG to earnestly commence the promotion of tourism in China which will see Chinese group tourists visiting tourist spots in PNG through the strict invitation of tourism and travel agencies in PNG.
The MOU will be signed on behalf of the Government of PNG by the Minister for Tourism, Hon Mr Charles Abel MP in Kunming. Mr Abel is set to arrive in Kunming on Wednesday, 31 October, 2007. He will be accompanied by the CEO of the PNG TPA, Mr Peter Vincent. Ambassador Momis will also be present during the signing ceremony. |
